Beach at the Outer Banks

I'm back from my mini-vacation and with no pictures of anything good to show you, except that one of a Pier at Nag's Head from the day trip we took down to the Outer Banks.

I was so sure I'd finish the neck of that Yoke Pullover and start the pink mohair sweater but I didn't. I didn't do either. I spent my entire vacation week reading. It was good though; I used to read all the time and my reading sort of fell by the wayside when I started knitting and spinning.

But this month is going to be the month of spinning for me. I have so much fiber in this little apartment and I'd love to turn some of it into yarn. Plus, I'd like to see just how much I can get spun up this month. My goal is to spin for an average of one hour a day this whole month. Just an average, if I get behind during the week I can make up for it on the weekends. I know if if I try to make myself do it every single day I'll get behind and give up (sadly, one of the not so pleasant self-discoveries I've made through blogging is that I have very little follow-through. Almost none actually. Want proof? Just look at all the WIPS done except for seaming. or the "Alongs" I've joined and given up as soon as I got behind. Like the ABC-along. I loved that idea - still do, actually - but I only got as far as "c". "C"! Come on!)

So that's my plan, thirty hours of spinning for the month of June and we'll see what that gets me. Now I have to get going, I have three hours to catch up on.

30 hours of spinning, huh? I'm sure you'll finish it. We should do a finish the WIPs blog a long. ;-)

That picture makes me want to kick off my shoes and walk along the edge of the water. Good luck reaching your spinning goal!

I know about WIP! Boy, do I have a lot of those going on!!! Behind in everything!

Have fun spinning - and don't get down on yourself if you miss a day or whatever...it's like quitting smoking...I tried several times - and went back then a year ago this past April - I quit and haven't picked one up yet...it will all fall together...and you'll be a little spinning fiend! :)

I could dive right into that photo Cheryl! I haven't been reading as much lately either and I have a fabulous book I'm just getting into. Can't wait to see your spinning progress.

Great photo. I'm staring off into its distance while listening to the Grease soundtrack. I can almost hear the water splashing...

Month of spinning sounds great!
